Intro to Sculptural Borosilicate Lampwork Glass
– 4 week course
– 2 hours a week of one to one tuition
– 90 mins free torch time to practice new skills
The course will be tailored to your special interests and learning needs, but will include:
– Health and safety
– Setting up propane, oxygen and torch
– Proper use of tools
– Glass compatibility
– Choosing the correct glass for a project
– Different colouring techniques
– Shaping and sculpting glass off mandrel, using glass as a tool
– Basic and advanced bead-making techniques
– Using inclusions in glass such as silver leaf, enamels, millifiore
– Kiln annealing process for different types of glass
– Transferable skills to take into the hot shop
Course cost: £360
Intro to Soft Glass Lampwork Beadmaking
– 4 week course
– 2 hours a week of one to one tuition
– 90 mins free torch time to practice new skills
The course will be tailored to your special interests and learning needs, but will include:
– Health and safety

– Preparing materials and equipment
– Proper use of tools
– Glass compatibility
– Choosing the correct glass for a project
– Different colouring techniques
– Creating different patterns and designs
– Designing and creating a project
