About this Workshop

Workshop Name: Lampwork Glass Beads

Time: 10AM to 1PM or 2PM to 5PM (choose one)

Wollaston Rd, Amblecote, Stourbridge DY8 4HF, UK

Price: £80 per person

In this class, you’ll be learning how to use the equipment safely, including how to turn the torch on, choosing coloured glass rods to work with, and watching a demonstration on how to make a basic hot glass bead. You’ll also use frit (crushed glass) to apply patterns to beads and learn different techniques to create a range of designs, such as spots, twists, wraps, and encasing.

You’ll make 15-25 beads depending on the size. All your beads will be kiln annealed, cleaned, and any sharp edges filed off. You can have your beads for you to make something yourself or Sarah will turn them into simple jewellery for you. They will be ready to pick up a few days later or can be posted out to you.

Suitable for complete beginners or the more experienced alike.

Tea and coffee provided.

The class is wheelchair accessible.

This workshop is held at Studio 4, The Ruskin Glass Centre, in Amblecote, Stourbridge, where you’ll find many artist studios and a fantastic organic cafe which caters for vegan and gluten free customers.
